Call for Applications – EaP Civil Society Facility Fellowships: Supporting Young Civil Society Leaders in Eastern Partnership Countries/ DDL: 31st of January 2019

The European Union, through the Eastern Partnership Civil Society Facility, has launched a Call for Applications for Fellowships for supporting young civic society activists in the Eastern Partnership countries.

 

The Eastern Partnership Civil Society Fellowships are an integral part of the European Union’s Eastern Partnership Civil Society Facility – Regional Action project. Each year 20 talented fellows are selected within the project. The first Fellowship cycle (started in 2017) ended in June 2018. The second Fellowship cycle started in May 2018 and is in its final stage now.

 

Through the Fellowship Programme, the EU is investing in the development of young civic activists or civically minded individuals from the region,who display an interest and ability for taking up leadership roles in their countries.

 

The call addresses young civil society activists from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova or Ukraine with new ideas for improving communities/ countries and who are looking for opportunities to improve their leadership skills.

 

The fellows have a unique opportunity to take part in trainings and other capacity building activities, as well as implement individual projects of up to EUR 5,000.  Examples of supported projects include: an audit of public transport and accessibility issues, advocacy on financial crimes, improvement of quality of local playgrounds, e-democracy, development of capacities of professional associations, etc. Fellows received access to trainings, summer schools, internships, as well as a relevant network that may help them achieve their leadership potential. In addition, the fellows become part of an international network of like-minded individuals and have the opportunity to attend various high-level meetings and interact with decision-makers in their countries, as well as those from the EU institutions.

 

The deadline for submitting applications is the 31st of January 2019.
