Call for Project Proposals: UNDP Moldova - The Global Environment Facility’s Small Grants Programme

The Global Environment Facility’s (GEF) Small Grants Programme (SGP), implemented by UNDP Moldova has launched a new call for projects proposals.

The Global Environment Facility (GEF) Small Grants Programme (SGP) provides nongovernmental and community‐based organizations (NGOs/CBOs) in developing countries with grants up to 50,000.00 USD to enable them to tackle climate change, conserve biodiversity, protect international waters, reduce the impact of Persistent Organic Pollutants (POPs), and prevent land degradation.

With these environment‐centered “grant projects”, the programme also seeks to generate sustainable livelihoods and reduce poverty in the world’s neediest countries and regions. The SGP motto is “community action with global impact!

Non-governmental organizations from Moldova may apply for grants for the implementation of projects in the following thematic areas:

  • Community-based conservation of threatened ecosystems and species;
  • Co-benefits of access to low carbon energy;
  • Chemicals management and waste management;
  • Catalyzing sustainable urban solutions;
  • Community-based adaptation.

The applicant (NGO) should ensure co-financing of at least 50% from the total amount of the project. The co-financing can be ensured monetary and in kind (NGO’s own contribution, and/or its partner’s, other donors, mayors, private sector, etc.): 25% should be in kind and 25% should be monetary.

The deadline for submitting the offers is 31 October 2020, 23:59 (GMT +2).
