The European Union has launched a call for project proposals, with a view to further strengthening the civil society in Georgia and promote human rights and fundamental freedoms.
The specific objectives of this call for proposals are:
Lot 1: to strengthen the overall sustainability of the civil society in Georgia by contributing to enhancing its enabling environment, capacity, transparency and accountability at all civil society’s levels in an inclusive way and country wide.
Lot 2: to contribute to a more favourable ecosystem for social entrepreneurship.
Lot 3: to increase the local CSOs’ competency to better perform their roles as reliable actors of governance and development at the local, regional and national level contributing to inclusive and empowered society in Georgia.
Lot 4: to reinforce the role of CSOs in tackling climate change and mitigating its adverse effects, including negative impacts of environmental degradation on the public health.
Lot 5: to promote fundamental freedoms and human rights by supporting CSOs active in the promotion and defence of human rights and democracy.
Indicative list of eligible types of activities: capacity building activities; networking and structuring of networks; community mobilisation; civic education; Drafting of policy recommendations; legislation review; community based initiatives; promotion of volunteerism; reparation and delivery of action plans; joint activities with public institutions; consultations, conferences, workshops, seminars, roundtables; awareness raising events, advocacy campaigns, public communication activities (TV and radio programmes, websites), publications; studies, research, opinion surveys and analytical papers.
The overall indicative amount made available under this call for proposals is EUR 8.200.000.
The deadline for submitting applications is the 15.05.2020 at 12:00 (Brussels date and time).
