Senior government officials, representatives from local and regional authorities, communities and civil society organizations from Moldova and border regions of Ukraine will gather on 12 December to take part in a Regional Conference aimed at advancing territorial cooperation in Eastern Partnership Countries, focused specifically on the Moldova-Ukraine Territorial Cooperation Programme.
The conference will address common challenges in economic and social development at regional/local level in Moldova and the eligible regions of Ukraine. The event provides the platform for open discussion of priorities and specific issues of regional development from the local authorities and civil society perspectives. Opportunities flowing from the Eastern Partnership Territorial Cooperation through developing and implementing joint projects aimed at social and economic development of border regions will be also in focus at the conference.
The Regional Conference is being organised by the Eastern Partnership Territorial Cooperation Support Programme (EaPTC Support Programme), funded by the European Union. It will be held at the LeoGrand Convention Center (Mitropolit Varlaam St. 77) in Chisinau, Moldova, with media invited to a press conference from 11:20-11:40.
The Eastern Partnership Territorial Cooperation Programme aims to promote and strengthen cross-border cooperation between regional and local state authorities, communities and civil society organisations through developing joint solutions to common social and economic development challenges in the participating border regions.
